The latest update for The Sandbox version 0.12 rolls out a packed set of improvements for both players and creators. Whether you’re jumping into multiplayer or crafting your own world, there’s new polish across the board: from matchmaking to audio, from UI flows to building templates.

Multiplayer eased with smarter matchmaking

Diving into a game now starts smoother. New lobbies guide players directly into ongoing sessions, simplifying setup and reducing wait times. Custom matchmaking offers more control, meaning you can hop into experiences how and with whom you want.

Cleaner interface for a better experience

The UI now feels more cinematic. Victory and defeat screens flow into dynamic menus set against 3D backdrops. First-time user guidance steps in seamlessly, camera transitions are smoother, and item previews let you see collectibles on your avatar before equipping them.

More immersive audio and seamless navigation

Spatial sound receives an upgrade with terrain-aware reverb and immersive audio zones powered by high-fidelity tools. Navigation is more fluid too move between the main map and dashboard without exiting the session.

Game Maker gets smarter and richer

Creators see big gains too. NPCs can assume roles like gatherer or healer, and kits now save player state between sessions. Four fresh asset packs and three game templates Shooters, Action RPG, and Business Tycoon power up creative options. Plus, auto-equip and visual effect timers simplify in-game item use.
