Gunz blockchain just got a jolt. With the migration of Off The Grid to mainnet (for EU PC users), the number of daily active unique wallets (DAUWs) surged into six digits. That marks the most sustained attention the network has seen in its time.

But raw numbers only tell part of the story. What happens once the migration hype fades will test whether this is a structural win or a temporary bump.

The Migration & the Numbers

During its migration, Gunz recorded more than 53,000 DAUWs far beyond its previous peaks, which hovered in the 20,000s. On day two, that number jumped again to over 71,700. That’s a dramatic swing for a chain often more niche than mainstream.

It’s worth noting, though, that much of this jump may stem from onboarding existing Off The Grid accounts all at once. In other words, this spike is at least partly mechanical, not purely organic growth.

Activity vs Sustainability

Sustaining activity is harder than triggering it. The migration brought attention, but keeping users engaged over weeks or months is another challenge. If they log in once and drift away, DAUWs will trend downward.

Still, there’s value in this kind of burst. It gives the network a pulse, proving what’s possible if you bring a sizable IP or game over. For investors and devs watching, that kind of timing data is gold.

On-Chain Metrics & NFT Movements

According to tracking sources, about 7.9 million NFTs tied to the project have already been minted on mainnet. The total trading volume sits in the mid-six-figure range (USD). That suggests transactional activity is happening, though not necessarily deeply (i.e. not huge trades, but many smaller ones).

These figures help hint at how much “skin in the game” users have not just logging in but interacting with assets.

What It Suggests for Blockchain Gaming

This event reinforces a few points: first, migrations can create visibility. Second, bundling a game transition with asset ownership (NFTs, etc.) can drive spikes. But those are tactical moves, not strategy.

If Gunz can convert attention into retention by weaving utility, community incentives, or ongoing content then it might stand out. But if this ends as a flash in the pan, it’ll be another case of blockchain games getting bursts without building foundation.
