Star Wars fans have a new date to circle on the calendar. Beyond Victory, the next major VR entry in the franchise, has officially locked in its release for November on Meta Quest headsets. This latest installment aims to expand the VR Star Wars experience with a fresh campaign and a stronger focus on piloting and first-person action.
The announcement caps months of speculation following early teasers and playtest leaks. Beyond Victory looks to follow in the footsteps of Vader Immortal and Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, but with more emphasis on cinematic battles and freedom of movement.
Campaign Focused on Piloting and Ground Combat
Beyond Victory blends two key Star Wars fantasies: piloting iconic ships and stepping into first-person combat. The game will feature space dogfights and planetary missions, allowing players to seamlessly shift between starship cockpits and boots-on-the-ground encounters.
Unlike earlier VR Star Wars titles that leaned toward shorter episodic stories, Beyond Victory appears to offer a full-length campaign. This could put it closer to something like Star Wars: Squadrons, but reimagined for VR immersion.
A Step Toward Bigger VR Experiences
The game will release exclusively for Meta Quest headsets at launch, aligning with Meta’s strategy of securing recognizable IP for its VR ecosystem. No PC VR or PlayStation VR2 release has been confirmed yet, though future ports remain possible.
The Star Wars brand has often been used to showcase VR’s potential, and Beyond Victory looks like another attempt to deliver a more complete game rather than a short experience. If successful, it could signal that VR adaptations of major franchises are moving toward longer, more robust projects rather than just bite-sized spin-offs.
