Wildcard has kicked off the first competitive stretch in its Road to DreamHack journey by launching a Preseason ladder now live through August 23. Designed to be more than warm-up matches, every duo that participates earns an exclusive in-game skin and the top three teams each Saturday walk away with $50 gift cards.

This phase builds toward the larger competition, serving both as a low-stakes entry point and a way to test team strategies ahead of the real qualifiers.

Preseason setup and why it matters

The Preseason ladder plays out on Saturdays through August 23, inviting players to sharpen their coordination and deck tactics. The top three teams each week receive gift card rewards, while all participants will unlock a branded skin for use when Wildcard launches in Early Access.

In a competitive ecosystem, such stages act as both practice venues and incentive drivers. Here, they blend community access with tangible rewards a smart balance for developing competitive energy while onboarding new duos.

Roadmap toward DreamHack Atlanta

Post-Preseason, the competition heats up with a series of structured qualifiers:

  • Qualifier Ladders (Sept 6–28): Weekend ladder matches where top-performing teams advance to DreamHack.
  • Last Chance Qualifier (Oct 4): A last shot for runners-up to earn the remaining invite.
  • Placement Stage (early October): Determines final seeding for the live tournament.
  • DreamHack Atlanta (Oct 31–Nov 2): The culminating live event, where 12 teams fight for a $5,000 prize pool, travel support, and champion status.

This roadmap brings structure and excitement, blending local LAN energy with digital-first preparation.
